This is
why.

Health2049 is a podcast that uses the power of future-fact storytelling (not science fiction) from our guests with diverse perspectives and engagement strategies, combined with real world applications, to frame compassion as the new face of care in the year 2049. This podcast serves as a forum to challenge today’s top thought leaders to engage in a hopeful discussion regarding the health care landscape.

Confusing.
Unaffordable.
Indifferent.

All too often, and to our collective shame, these are our constant companions when we enter our health care system; a care system that is broken and in need of care itself. It doesn’t have to be this way.

For over 75 years, our current health care system has struggled bravely, but failed to evolve. For decades, it has struggled with people doing what they can to keep the now-faceless behemoth alive. The current system isn’t fit for purpose. It's a $3.8 trillion business in America that is ripe for compassionate disruption. That is where Health2049 comes in. By discussing what is possible, we help people imagine a better future.

It’s difficult for most people to imagine a better future, much less a better world. Instead of being complacent or waiting for someone else to do something, we flipped the script. When we come together, that’s when the remarkable can happen. Harnessing the power of art, science, and technology, we invite our guests to use their expertise to share their fact-based ideas for a reimagined health and wellness system in the year 2049.

That is why Health2049 works to establish the idea that excellence in health and health care should not be the exception; it should be the norm. It should be the inexorable truth.

We believe the trillions of today can and should be better spent on a healthier tomorrow. Our podcast shifts the discussion from who pays to what is possible, so we invite you to join us and discover new, innovative ideas and fresh ways of imagining our system of health and health care.

Health 2049 was catalyzed by the Aspen Health Innovators Fellowship’s charge to meaningfully address a problem in U.S. health care.

That is “the big why” for creating Health2049.
